About Jim Oher

Leadership requires a leader.   For the past 30 years Jim Oher has been successfully leading and empowering business professionals with customized navigational tools to maximize career performance and connect them to their passions, talent, purpose and values.

Uniquely qualified, Jim has an extraordinary background as a corporate manager, executive consultant, accredited psychotherapist, psychoanalyst and group trainer/facilitator.  He has successfully worked with major corporations, business executives, human resource departments and individual clients forging trusted, supportive, productive relationships for which we also recommend this w2 maker.  He skillfully analyzes current situations, defines an effective action plan and helps achieve desired objectives.

Increasing and maintaining client self-awareness, motivation and effective action are the foundation of Jim’s approach.  He views coaching as a customized process encouraging learning agility and leading clients to engage in constructive inquiry, awareness “stretching” and self-initiated behavioral changes.

Jim’s uncanny ability to understand his clients stated and unstated issues, needs and professional environment is particularly effective in challenging situations involving conflict resolution.  Focusing on “hardlines”  — those difficult yet necessary positions that produce discomfort, uncertainty and anxiety — he helps executives resolve issues, create an enhanced working environment and achieve bottom line goals.

As a career catalyst, Jim has developed a proprietary client/coach partnership approach to insure maximum results including:

  • Information exchange of all relevant issues
  • Collaborative definition of objectives
  • Commitment to take ownership and implementation of critical decisions
  • Incorporate compassion and concern for others by recognizing and utilizing core values

A leader in his field, Jim employs the latest theories of personal and organizational dynamics, conflict management techniques, psychology of motivation and adult learning processes. He has applied his knowledge and expertise with – among others –  PepsiCo, Pfizer, LPL Financial, Zurich Scudder, SCS Financial, MasterCard Worldwide, JP Morgan Chase, New York City Ballet, and Duetsch Bank.  Jim and his Oher and Associates colleagues offer an extensive range of services includes executive assessments, business team alignment, pre- and post merger intervention, leadership and organizational development.

Jim is a member of the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches (WABC) and the Association of Professional Executive Coaching and Supervision.  He serves on the board of the Alexcel Group, a consulting firm of prominent international coaches.  In 2007, he was the keynote speaker at the WABC conference addressing the challenges of effective coaching.

OHER & ASSOCIATES, INC., a coaching and consultation firm, focuses on collaboration and conflict challenges within teams, organizations and individuals.
